Once
upon a time there was a little girl named Nancy. She was an eleven-year-old
blue-eyed girl with long blond hair. She was fair-skinned with lovely rosy
cheeks. She was looking forward to her birthday, next March 17.
She
lived in Kilmarnock not too far from the sea, with her little brother, Arthur,
4, and her parents. She loved the place because she had a lot of friends there.
What she liked most was the sweet shop where she could get sweets, waffles,
gingerbread and even 6-scoop ice-cream. Arthur and Nancy were fond of all sorts
of delicacies. She also liked the new gym that was next to the tenpin bowling
where she would still go every week. Almost everyday she enjoyed settling in
the house her father had built up in the tree next to the river.
Nancy
would love spending her time inventing silly things. One morning, while she was
riding to school, she met the sweet shop keeper who was opening his shop. She
asked him for some sweets.
"Thank you!"
Along
the way she met a small dragon. She put it hastily in her bag. Once at school,
she thought, "I hope the teacher will not find it!"
I like to live not too far from the sea.
